Checking in from Chicago!
Great cruise with MINI of Grand Rapids this morning to the Windy City! We have the MINI Countryman preview party tonight. Rain stopped, sun is out (so is the humidity!)
Here are a couple quick pics!! More on the Flickr account (linked above: www.flickr.com/lilcoopr) because they are uploading as we speak!
I have some video too, but that will be uploaded tonight after the Countryman Preview Party!
I LOOOOOVE free wi-fi, thanks Super 8!
Happy motoring! We are back on the road to Chicago!
PS If we’ve met today or will in the future, please leave a comment below with your contact info so we can keep in touch! I’ve handed out many business cards and stickers (lilcoopr.com limited edition stickers) so I’d love to hear more from you!
YAY! Just as the title of this post indicates, the infamous MINI United recap video is now complete for the 2009 event!
I found it on the MINI United blog, and was really excited to watch it and start counting how many times I, and hopefully Adam too, make an appearance!
I’m at 0:45, waving, as we drove into MINI United in Sam’s MINI:
Then again @ 1:56-1:57, when I was dancing with Florian to the sounds of the awesome MINI United DJ (Check out a video of this dancing – complete with PLENTY OF BOOTY SHAKING LOL – right here on Youtube!! You can also see Adam in the background filming…. so we do have more than one angle of this :P):
Then BOTH Adam and I make another MINI United video recap appearance at 2:53-2:55 during the “How Many People Can Be Stuffed In a Clubman?” world record attempt:
Yet another appearance in the recap video at 2:59-3:01ish while we are watching the dancing. This actually occurred chronologically before the second appearance of me dancing. This is the dialogue that occurred at this time:
Lilcoopr: “I wanna go dance.”
Adam: “Then go dance.”
Lilcoopr: “But I dunno….”
Adam: “Well don’t then.”
Lilcoopr: “Ok, I’m gonna go dance!”
Haha! And this is what it looked like:
That seems to be all, however, if you spot myself (or Adam) in the video, I will give you a prize of something really really cool and highly coveted if you let me know 😛 I’m not sure what it is yet, but I’m sure it will be great!
Anyways, so it’s always great to be featured in the video and in the official pictures. It gives some extra proof of “Ya, I was there having a bunch of fun with all those MINIacs!” But seriously… the video just makes me all excited again and I stilllllllll can’t wait til the next one! Ah!!
Still working through those pictures! Damn Flickr uploader is being fussy and despite numerous uninstall/reinstall situations, the problems are still there. I’ve sent messages to the Flickr support team and they suggested using the basic uploader for the time being, which is NOT an option when you have gigs and gigs of pictures to upload! *sigh* It’s 1:11 (AM!!!!) so I will make a wish that it will work so you’ll have something else to look at tomorrow morning!
Happy Motoring, lovelies! Hopefully it’s not raining where you are (as we’re expecting a few days of rain, including during MINI Meet North this weekend!)
It’s official!! Summer is here! Although the calendar may say it’s still a few more days until the “official” start, the celebrations of the new motoring season are already here! Now don’t get me wrong, Stella and I have been doing plenty of motoring between the end of last summer and now… she just loves the winter… but now there are events nearly EVERY weekend! I can’t wait!
Here’s a brief and always updating list of events to look forward to

So there will be lots of pictures and videos taken of the above events! And I can’t wait to motor on with everyone and enjoy the summer sun!
MINI United update: I’m still working through those pictures and videos. The Flickr uploader has been giving me trouble, by uploading doubles or uploading only half of the “batch”. *sigh*. Also, the video was shot in HD 1080P with GPS tagging and the whole nine-yards. I thought that sounded like a great idea at the time, but it just means converting each file to another format before it can be chopped up and edited! It’s coming though, don’t worry!
Alright, off to do some more motoring! Despite all the activities planned, I do hope to post more often, so keep checking back and maybe I’ll even do a video blog once a week-ish? Sound off to that idea in the comments below!
Happy motoring, xx lilcoopr!
Sorry for the fuzziness!! The webcams on the HP laptops at the MINI United Internet Cafe were a little poor quality 😛
I am currently in the MINI United Internet Cafe…! Calvin Harris is playing “The Girls”, the music is pumping and the MINI owners are swarming about!
Today was Day 1… Adam and I met up with all my old friends from last time (2 years ago now!), checked out the club tents, participated in MINI Driver Training level 2, and a whole lot more. I have tons of pictures and also some pretty sweet HD video to show you! ALSOOOOO… We’ve been interviewed by White Roof Radio, so I’m excited to hear that pod cast
We spent the day in London on Wednesday and traveled to MINI Park Lane after meeting up with Chris, our MINI Durham dealer principal, for lunch.
Thursday was the “MINI Addicts” tour at Plant Oxford.
We are looking forward to another jam-packed two days of MINI Excitement! On Sunday, MINI USA has invited us to a lunch with Mike Cooper followed by a ride in a MINI for the SILVERSTONE TRACK!!!!! I am SO looking forward to this!
Our hired VW Polo has been transformed into a counterfeit MINI for the event. We have magnetic bonnet stripes courtesy of Amy McCleary from SOMC and a host of MINI stickers including the official MINI United 2009 banner and “My Other Car Is A MINI”. Oh! How could I forget to mention that my MotoringFile Grille Badge of a Canadian Rondel is on the boot lid of the Polo… to represent when our Canadian Flag car flags aren’t on of course!
Alright, I wanna go have some more fun! Bye for now… motor on in your MINIs for me, please! I miss my Stella baby!
Happy Motoring love lilcoopr.
Alright so the flight is officially booked!! We are leaving in less than 2 weeks and staying in the UK for only a week, but it’ll be the best week EVER since it will be jam-packed with MINI fun such as the tour at Plant Oxford annnnnd MINI United!!
So let the countdown begin!!
16 days according to the MINI United site: http://www.miniunited.com/web/guest/miniunited2009
PS just hope that my back heals in time so I can party with my fellow MINIacs and so the flight is a little less unbearable!!
School has been on strike since November 6, 2008. That is 76 days without formal education, deadlines, studying, etc. Well ok, for the first week I continued to study, but it’s easy to lose motivation. You can’t blame a busy 21 year old girl for not wanting to spend all her waking hours studying when no deadlines/motivational targets are in sight!
Between November 6 and now I’ve had: my birthday, the grand opening party of the dealership, SOMC Christmas Party, SOMC meets, completing my driver’s license exit test (yay!!), Christmas (times 2 since there was Christmas at home and at Adam’s), an uneventful Boxing Day shopping experience, studying for my real estate test, New Years, work work work work and more work, planning for the East Enders MINI Motoring Club, and lots more inbetween stuff (fun and not fun).
So I’ve been busy. And the time has flew by. School is still on strike. Actually, the union are voting in a secret ballot today and yesterday whether or not to accept the settlement offer from my university. This means my new-found free time might be over soon. Hmm. We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Now I don’t want to get into the discussion on how upset I am about the strike. That’s happened too often in the past 76 days.
Instead – since Adam and I are going to MINI United 2009 in Silverstone, UK this May, I have to start getting my finances in order for such a big excursion across the pond.
I calculated, using growth formulas that I miraculously remembered from last year’s calculus /3rd level Econ classes, the increase in my pay. I made two calculations:
Thanks to the dealership being extraordinarily understanding of the life of a student, I’ve had extreme flexibility in my schedule. Last year was filled with too many exams, calculus/econ study groups at every opportunity, studying, the occasional MINI meet, and daily trips to the gym.
Soooo, after using my handydandy math skills (that I’m still impressed to have remembered), I’ve calculated:
I’d say that’s using my time wisely. Being motivated to go to MINI United again. And a lot of time spent with the MINIs in the showroom.
So the increase alone, due to the strike, is enough to cover my MINI United trip. Pretty niceeeee :).
See ya in the UK, MINIacs!!!!!!!!!!
